Gloucester II 2, Bretforton II 0
RETURNING to Severn League first division action, Bretforton lost out to second half strikes at Oxtalls Campus last Saturday.
The visitors made the initial openings with Sarah Bragg forcing the home goalkeeper into a save after good work from Liz Murray-White and Amy Trotman.
Gloucester then showed their attacking power and it needed the stout efforts of player of the match Dawn Thatcher, Marion Icke, Lesley McKinnon, Jude Edghill and goalkeeper Fiona Baldelli to ensure a goalless first period.
Parity remained until late in the second half when the Bretforton rearguard was finally breached following a series of close calls.
Kate Williams hit a post as the visitors tried to force and equaliser but their efforts were all in vain as a second home goal sentenced the villagers to defeat in a match sponsored by Steve Ramm Fabrics.
It's Cheltenham Civil Service at home this weekend.
