BELBROUGHTON and Colwall opened the new Worcestershire Cricket Board Monday Indoor League season at RGS Worcester with victories.
Belbroughton won by six wickets after restricting Avoncroft to 97-5 in 12 overs, Adrian Fox (30no) Paul Athey (15), Adam Rodway (12) and Jon Bird (10) leading the way. Danny Attwood took 2-19 and Colin Braggs 2-20.
Belbroughton got home without losing a wicket with 10 balls to spare with Dave Haywood (26), Attwood (25) and Will Pardoe (25) all retiring.
Against Colwall, Royal Worcester Exiles made 86-6 led by 40 from Steve May, supported by John Billington (19) and Guy Woodbridge (11). James Wagstaff (2-15) and Mark Oliver (1-25) were the best bowlers.
Skipper Mark Shouler made 26 retired, supported by Wagstaff and Steve Ferguson (10) as Colwall won by four wickets.
