GOVERNMENT inspectors agreed Colwall CE Primary was "a lovely school" and paid tribute to its caring attitude and very good standard of education.
The school's staff, teaching and quality of leadership all came in for praise during the three-day inspection, in October.
Headteacher Richard Southall, who has been at the school for 25 years, said family atmosphere and happy pupils were far more important than performance in league tables.
However, the Government team of education experts and a lay inspector said the school should create a more focussed plan for future improvements. A full account will follow when Ofsted publishes its report.
