Parents across Worcestershire are being urged not to forget the deadline for new school places.
The last date for applying for a child's place at first or primary school for 2004 is Friday, February 6.
Worcestershire County Council officers are reminding parents of four and five-year-old children that late applications could seriously compromise their chances of gaining a place at their preferred school.
Coun June Longmuir, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for education, said: "County council officers work very hard to avoid disappointment for parents but each year we receive late applications and inevitably have to make arrangements for a different school to the one parents would prefer."
Application forms and information for parents are available from schools or the council on 01905 763763.
