THE Big Chris Barber Band will be providing the music at the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester tomorrow (Satur-day).
The band was born out of a special show to celebrate the music of Duke Ellington in 2000, when the seven-strong Chris Barber's Jazz and Blues Band was augmented by three musicians from Bob Hunt's Duke Ellington Orchestra.
The line-up toured the UK and Europe and recorded a CD.
The band proved so popular with music-lovers that Mr Barber was persuaded to make the arrangement, with some changes, permanent. He says it is not a big band in the traditional sense, but is bigger.
The music starts at 8pm and tickets are £16.50 (£14.50 concs) from the box office on 01905 611427.
On Thursday, it will be the return of Artisan's Stuff the Turkey Christmas show, a mix of comedy and contemporary and specially-written songs. The show is at 8pm and tickets are £10 (£9 concs).
