A Malvern Girls' College pupil was the winner of a major science award.
Amy Fok, aged 18, won this year's Peterhouse Science Essay Prize from Peterhouse College, Cambridge, with an essay entitled What Shape is the Universe?
She was invited to Cambridge to receive £500 prize money on November 25, where the Master of the College, Lord Wilson of Tillyorn, described her essay, as 'clearly the best'.
Amy is studying physics, maths, further maths and chemistry at A'Level and hopes to study physics at university. She spent most of her Easter holiday researching her essay.
Physics teacher Sarah Musgrave said: "Amy is one of the most enthusiastic physics students we have ever had and is totally immersed in her subject, both outside and inside the classroom and we are very proud of her outstanding achievement in winning this prize."
