WEST Malvern entertained high flying Pershore Manor on Saturday and can only blame themselves for losing.

WEST MALVERN 2, PERSHORE MANOR 3

The West got off to a flyer and were a goal up within the first seven minutes. Good play between David Knapper and Ben Pearson resulted in Lee Tracey going through to score. The West continued to push forward and exerted pressure on the Pershore back four and Ken McEwan headed home to make it 2-0.

In the 44th minute Pershore reduced the deficit when a goal kick was headed back to a Pershore forward on his own to score past a stranded Newman.

The second half got underway and the West continued to play some very good football but once again chances to McEwan and Lee Tracy went missing, in the 70th minute Pershore levelled the scores. With time running out it looked as if it was going to be a draw but in time added on Pershore grabbed a winner.

Tomorrow (Saturday) West Malvern, sponsored jointly by Amey and the Cross Keys, travel to Little Pitchcroft to play Plumbers Arms, players meet Eurohaus, Malvern Link, at 1pm.
