FOUR second-half goals brought Anchor Falcons three well deserved points in this Worcester League Sunday Division Four encounter at Dyson Perrins.

ANCHOR FALCONS 4, DROITWICH SPA EAGLES 0

After an indifferent first-half showing, the Falcons rallied and came back strongly after the break and once they had broken the deadlock shortly after the break there was never any doubt as to where the points were going.

With two players on crutches after sustaining injuries in recent weeks, the side showed one change with Jon Hale returning at the back to form a solid defence with man of the match Mark Berry and player manager Andy Fletcher.

The Eagles started much brighter than the Falcons and were guilty of missing three excellent chances, with the Falcons once again slow out of the blocks. Shane Oseman was the one to thank with a couple of superb saves, and it certainly felt only a matter of time before the visitors would take the lead. Will Hale had other ideas though, his assured display of tackling and effort in midfield seemed to inspire the Falcons and although it was somewhat fortuitous it was deadlocked at the break.

Just three minutes into the second half the Falcons, who looked far more industrious, took the lead and it came from an unexpected source. A quick counter-attack involving Rich Lambert and Ben Ratcliffe saw the latter thunder a shot against the right hand post and as the ball rebounded to the edge of the box there was centre back Jon Hale to rifle the ball inside the far post.

The deadlock broken, the Falcons grew in stature. Dave Jenkinson made it 2-0 on 52 minutes with a well taken shot from the left hand edge of the box before Ben Ratcliffe made it three with a cross shot.

The Falcons took the sting out of the game with some well-composed defending and passing by which time the young Eagles side had run out of ideas.

Jenkinson wrapped the game up with his second when latching onto Oseman's long clearance and firing a first time shot past the on-rushing keeper.
