Father Dominic Round has been officially inducted as parish priest for St Joseph's Church, Upton, with Our Lady and St Alfonsus, Blackmore Park.
The ceremony took place last Friday (December 5) at the Blackmore Park church and was conducted by the Roman Catholic Dean of Worcester, Father Kevin Kavanagh.
Parishioners from both congregations attended, along with priests from across the diocese.
Also present to welcome Father Dominic on behalf of the wider community was the mayor of Upton, Coun Eric White.
Father Dominic, 63, said he was "as happy as a sandboy" to be living and working in Upton. He took over the parish in September, having spent 11 years as parish priest in Redditch. He replaced Father Keith Enston, who left to become assistant priest at St George's, Worcester.
