OPEN ground in Longdon is in the process of being enhanced by the parish council. The field, in Bear Lane, was bought for use as a cemetery when the existing one becomes full. However, it is currently used by local children as a playing field.
Longdon, Holdfast and Queenhill parish councillors are now putting plants in the field and erecting new fencing to preserve the ancient hedgerows.
