THIS Worceter Concert Club performance by two trebles, a soprano, counter-tenor, tenor and baritone began with sacred music and readings.
We first heard a bright medieval vocal fanfare 'Be Merry. Then a light and syncopated style was adopted for Nova, by R Chilcott, while Mary Walked through a Wood, by P Radcliffe, was a gentle interpretation and involved several solos.
Various solo items included the soprano singing Michael Head's Road to Bethlehem and a treble's rendition of Madonna & Child, by E Thiman.
Secular thoughts were encompassed in the second half, which began with an amusing fugue, Christmas is Coming, based on The Goose is Getting Fat. The Snowman was sung by a treble and a fun piano duet, Sleigh Ride, was combined with suitably chosen readings, before really familiar Christmas pieces were heard, some where the audience was able to join in.
All in all, this concert was over-long.
