Children at a host of schools donned their costumes and took to the stage to present their own versions of the nativity.

The Downs School, in Colwall, staged two plays. Twenty-seven children from the kindergarten classes performed Come to the Party at Bethlehem last Tuesday, while the junior mschool performed Jesus in the Manger last Thursday at Colwall Memorial Hall.

Children at the Madresfield Early Years Centre created their version of the nativity story, which was shown to parents yesterday and will be performed again this evening (Friday).

Colwall Primary School approached the nativity theme from a modern angle, through the play Are We Nearly There Yet? Performed on Tuesday and Wednesday, it featured the traditional story of the nativity, alongside that of a modern family on a trip to Bethlehem.

Key Stage One children from Northleigh Primary, in Malvern, performed a traditional version of the nativity for parents on Tuesday.

More than 60 children at Hampton pre-prep school, in Malvern, presented the tale of The Bossy Christmas Fairy on Wednesday and Thursday evening, while Longdon Primary staged Are we Nearly There Yet? on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Children at the Wyche Primary School performed their version of the nativity for parents on Wednesday and Thursday, while youngsters at Malvern Link Primary School were extremely busy staging three variations of the nativity - Stable Manners, Off to Bethlehem and Are We Nearly There Yet? - from Monday to Wednesday.
