AN Evesham woman plucked from obscurity to dance in a Punjabi pop video has vowed to return to India despite the culture shock of her first visit.

Fiona Holloway, aged 20, from Hampton, met "Prince of Punjab' Amrit Saab while promoting Evesham's Innuendo nightclub.

Fiona shot one video with Amrit in Birmingham before flying to the Indian capital Delhi in September for more filming.

The former Prince Henry's High School student said: "I was meant to go to India for six weeks but came back after three because I was just really homesick.

"The people there were lovely but living conditions over there are so poor.

"The streets were quite dirty and it was so hot but you cannot just go out in a bikini. There were also lots of beggars and that was quite upsetting to start with but it was just everywhere so you got used to it.

But Fiona claims the highlights of the trip far outweighed anything else: "I definitely do not regret going to India - I did really love it.

"We performed in front of 15,000 people and as soon as we came off the stage we had to go because the car was surrounded by people wanting Amrit's autograph."

"One of the biggest gigs we did was an awards show on live TV and that was just brilliant. It was amazing being up on stage - I was not nervous at all and just loved being up there."

Fiona plans to return to India after Christmas where she will be helping Amrit promote the title track of his new album Anakh.

The video featuring Fiona can be seen on the satellite station Zee TV.
