TWO toddlers sparked mayhem after breaking into a Droitwich house through a cat-flap for a three-hour spree which sparked a police helicopter search.
The girls, aged two and four, surprised police and neighbours in Albert Street when they walked out of the house naked, after taking a dip in the fish pond and giving themselves a bubble bath.
They also emptied Anne Woodward's freezer and attempted to give her dog Alfie a makeover with lipstick and nail-varnish.
A police helicopter and more than 14 police officers joined members of the public in the hunt after one of the girl's mothers reported them missing.
Mrs Woodward arrived home to be met by police. Her Jack Russell terrier was covered in lipstick and the children had even tried to varnish his nails.
"They had emptied my freezer and the kitchen floor was covered with de-frosting frozen food," said Mrs Woodward.
"The oven tin was under the grill and was also full of frozen food, but fortunately the cooker was switched off at the wall.
"In the spare bedroom, there was lipstick all over the walls and bed linen."
She saw the funny side when she found the bath filled with bubbles right up to the ceiling.
"The policeman and I both burst out laughing when we saw it. They had emptied four bottles of bubble bath and used about 10 towels to wash themselves and the dog.
The children were reported missing at 5.52pm on Friday, September 12, and found at 7.37pm that day but the details did not emerge until now.
"We had a number of people looking for them. Their voices were heard and then it was sort of back-tracking from there," said a police spokesman.
"It was of great concern to us because we called on the helicopter.
"It was a great relief when they were found."
The older child is thought to live in Droitwich and the younger one from Worcester.
Mrs Woodward said no one had been round to apologise.
"I can laugh about it now, but at the time I wanted to kill them," she said.
