BOSS Dave Titteron could not believe how Stourport Swifts failed to notch back-to-back wins when they went down 2-1 at home to Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday night.

The Walshes Meadow side were looking to move up into the top eight in the Dr Martens Western Division after their first away win of the campaign at Cinderford on Saturday.

But Rovers went away with the points after riding their luck at the back.

Titterton said: "We were on top for 15 minutes and then switched off and gave away two sloppy goals.

"Then we had three cleared off the line, their keeper made two tremendous saves and we did not make two one-on-one situations count in the last couple of minutes."

He added: "We totally dominated but taking chances wins matches and we did not do that.

"In the end we paid the price for giving away sloppy goals. Good teams don't switch off."

Swifts are without a game this Saturday but are back in action a week on Saturday with an FA Trophy preliminary round tie at Western Division rivals Halesowen Town.

They will be on a revenge mission after losing 2-0 at home to Town earlier this term, and Titterton expects there to be "some extra spice" to the game because a team's progress in the competition is rewarded with cash bonuses.

It will be a tough test for Swifts against a side who have lost only once in six league games this term, conceding just five goals in the process.
