BOY-RACERS would be back in Bewdley's biggest car park if speed humps there were reduced, councillors were told.
The humps in Dog Lane car park will stay put despite a town council request to make them more "disabled driver friendly," said car parks officer at Wyre Forest District Council Glyn Edwards.
"Although we appreciate that the ramps do have an effect of jolting the car on going over them, this is what they are designed for," he said in a letter to members of Bewdley Town Council.
He added: "I feel your problem with youths speeding in the car park would return."
Town councillor Paul Gittins won town council backing to ask for the humps to be changed as they were "too fierce".
However, Mr Edwards said he would speak to the manufacturers of the humps to look at "any ideas to lessen the impact, while keeping the effectiveness of the ramps".
