MARTIAL ARTS: Stourport's Kathleen Jones triumphed over an Italian girl in the final to pick up a gold medal in the World United Martial Arts Federation's European Championships.
The 13-year-old, a kickboxer from the town's Eclipse Martial Arts Centre, was in tremendous form in Cheltenham at the competition which also involved fighters from France and Germany.
Jones claimed her cup and certificate with five gruelling victories, while nine-year-old Martin Phillips was also a gold-medal winner.
