WE fully support the comments by Mark Evans (Journal, letters December 4). Here in Evesham we will encounter similar problems. We are members of the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship, we meet once a month in Evesham Library for two hours, add on a little shopping (while we are in town), and bingo, we are well over the parking limit. Similarly there is the Evesham Pensioners Alliance who meet in Wallace House, and I feel sure there are many others. Yes, there are long stay car parks, the closest is on Bewdley Street, this must be at least 400 yards away, the other is on Burford Road? (the street where the Regal is on the corner) at least half a mile from the centre. All these people are over 60, many are not too agile on their feet, and just would not go to the meetings if faced with a long walk to get there and another long walk to return to their car, and it is no use saying use the bus, they either don't run at a convenient time, or cover the correct areas, plus the fact they don't normally stop outside ones house. Yet more discrimination against the oldies.
