THE appeal to give desperately ill Kerry Jackson a new life has been given a burst of light thanks to a former neighbour's bright idea.Roger Lewis and Diane Hardwick have decorated their house in grander style than usual to raise cash for the Kerry Jackson Appeal.
Diane Hardwick and her partner Roger Lewis have decorated their house in grander style than usual in the hope passers-by will donate money towards the appeal to get 40-year-old Kerry a mobile oxygen concentrator.
Kerry's plight was featured in last week's Shuttle/Times & News - and Ms Hardwick was inspired by her bravery.
The 55-year-old, of 13 Loweswater Road, Burlish Park, said courageous Kerry used to live next door and was a "lovely little girl".
She said: "When I saw the article in the Shuttle/Times & News, I thought we put lights up every year and it would be so nice to raise money for somebody," she said, adding they had spent £150 on new decorations.
"We thought if we could help with the appeal it would bring a bit of light in to Kerry's Christmas."
She added: "She really does deserve this chance - she's a lovely person.
"I can't get over how brave she has been and still is."
