AN inquest opening into the deaths of two young men has revealed that one was engaged to marry the other's sister.
Michael Jennings, aged 22, and 19-year-old Billy Hall, who lived together at a mobile caravan site in Boreley, near Ombersley, both died on Tuesday morning, from the injuries they sustained when the car in which they were travelling hit a tree near Hawford Wood, on the A449 Worcester to Kidderminster road.
Worcestershire County Coroner, Victor Round, yesterday said that Mr Jennings was engaged to Mr Hall's sister.
The inquest, at Stourport-on-Severn, also heard that Mr Hall, who was due to celebrate his 20th birthday on Sunday, December 28, was the driver and that neither he nor Mr Jennings, who was in the passenger seat, was wearing a seat belt.
The inquest was adjourned for three months for further investigations to be carried out.
The family and friends of the two men were too distraught to speak to the Evening News.
