THE new Oak Hill First School has had a positive report following a recent Ofsted inspection.
The inspector praised the high quality of leadership, commitment of staff, the rich and varied curriculum and good extra curricular activities.
The report said children entering the school had a very good start and made good progress.
Headteacher Cherrill Illingworth said: "We're all very pleased the hard work of everyone connected with the school has been recognised.
"We will now continue with our work to further raise standards in English, maths and science by challenging pupils, especially the more able, and developing the role of some subject leaders."
