FUNDRAISERS took to the roads in memory of an Alvechurch teenager who tragically lost his battle with leukaemia three years ago.
People from all over the county gathered for a 15-mile walkathon via Bromsgrove on Saturday in memory of Michael Edwin, who was 19 when he died.
The event saw ramblers start the trek outside the Crown pub in Withybed Lane, when headteacher of Crown Meadow First School, Norma Kift, cut the ribbon.
Organisers were pleased with the turnout to what was the first of an annual series of similar events.
Eventually, they hope Saturday's walk will raise as much as £5,000 for the Acorns Children's Hospice in Worcester.
The Platt family lead the charity walk as Crown Meadow headteacher Norma Kift cuts the tape.
