Barbara Scane welcomed members to the 74th AGM and thanked Brenda Molloy for the beautiful flower arrangement.

Mary Glaze and Barbara Scane had attended the autumn council meeting and listened to two very good speakers, Clive Wilkinson, Chief Officer of Schools, and Dulcie Lewis with a talk on 'Privvies' - a very funny account of how toilets had developed over the ages.

Christine Grainger reminded members about the trip to the House of Commons on December 5 and as outings organiser, thanked everyone for all their support over the past 12 months.

The carol service this year will be at St Leonard's Church, Beoley, tomorrow at 7.30pm.

The spring group meeting will be held at Beoley Village Hall on March 30, details later.

The group meeting in October with Calendar Girl Tricia Stewart was a huge success. She was a super speaker and very funny indeed and she personally signed a huge number of calendars during the interval.

Members presented Mary Glaze, the outgoing group co-ordinator, with a bouquet of flowers and Denman gift vouchers with thanks for all her hard work over the past two years.

As Barbara Scane had finished her term of office as president, there were nominations for a new president.

Denise Cashmore was duly elected, with everyone wishing her every success for the future. Barbara was then presented with a gift and thanked for all her hard work as president over the past three years.

Barbara in turn thanked members and the committee for all their support during her term of office.

The meeting on December 8 was the Christmas party.
