PUPILS from four Redditch schools have been picked out of the hat for prizes in Worcestershire Trading Standards CitizenCard competition.

And lucky Katherine Snape, from Dingleside Middleside School, scooped the top prize in the event, which was held to publicise the proof of age card.

The prize-draw postcards, distributed via schools to the county's 11-13 year olds, offered the chance for children to win any one of 45 prizes, including fast food and supermarket vouchers, tickets for days out and Playstation games.

The draw was to promote the fact the free card scheme had opened up for this age group. Previously it was only available to older children.

There are now 20,000 cards in circulation in the county.
