MORE than 200 youngsters braved cold and muddy conditions to compete in the annual District Cross Country Championships.
Runners from U11s to U17s level completed laps around playing fields at Bromsgrove School, in Worcester Road, last Wednesday.
Competitors from middle schools and senior schools took part, including from Catshill, Parkside, North and South Bromsgrove.
Among the highlights was Kathryn Finch, winner of the years eight and nine girl's event. She has now won her year group event for the last four years.
Other winners included Georgina Walters and Toby Bowett, both from Bromsgrove Prep School, who won the year seven girl's and boys' events respectively.
Christian Booker of South Bromsgrove won the years eight and nine boys' event while Bromsgrove School's Lora Symonds won the girl's years ten and 11 race.
The winners at each level will automatically qualify for the county finals.
