A HUNKY Charford man has scooped a place in the finals of a national magazine's quest to find the hottest men in the UK.

himself as a Mr More 2003 contestant.

Mark Houghton, aged 23, of Austin Road, has got through to the final 16 contestants of Mars Model of the Year 2003 featured in More magazine.

The quantity surveyor was entered into the contest by his girlfriend. He only agreed because he wanted to watch a football match in peace but now says he is excited by the chance of modelling and travelling the world.

He said: "I agreed to let my girlfriend enter me in the contest and was really pleased when I had a phone call from the magazine to say I was through to the last 16.

"I have already done a photo-shoot in London for the magazine which I enjoyed - so now it is just wait and see what happens."

As part of the contest the former South Bromsgrove High School pupil and the other finalists took to the catwalk last Sunday at the Clothes Show Live event at the NEC in Birmingham when they strutted their stuff in front of the judges.

Girls hungry to see more of him may also get the chance to see him on Channel 4's The Salon show where he booked in for a top haircut which he hopes will clinch him the winning place in the modelling contest.

The winner of the contest will be announced at a celebrity event in London on December 16.
