Bridgnorth 0
Studley 1
STUDLEY assistant boss Nicky Cross is glad that no-one is making a fuss about his side's steady climb to the Midland Alliance summit.
The Bees dismantled one of their biggest rivals to the title with a stunning victory away from home to move up to fourth.
And former West Brom and Port Vale star Cross believes that Studley's quiet rise up the table could work in their favour.
"It was a superb result for us against a side that are going very well," said Cross. "They were full of confidence and a capable side. But we were went there determined and got the win.
"The good thing too is that no-one is really talking about us much at the moment which will suit us because we'll keep chipping away and hopefully win our games in hand. If we get to the top of the table, then we'll certainly do everything we can to stay there."
Andy Johnson's early goal separated the two sides in a game that underlined Studley's championship credentials against Bridgnorth who were knocked from second spot down to sixth.
Studley's young stand-in 'keeper Paul Maynard, who is deputising for the injured Danny Lewis, also played his part with a commanding performance.
