FEARS somebody will get hurt near the bus station have prompted Redditch Council to call for highway bosses to take urgent action to improve pedestrian access.
At a full Redditch Council meeting on Monday, a 442-signature petition was submitted.
Residents have called for access to be reinstated and improved from the junctions of Bromsgrove Road, Plymouth Road and Oakly Road to the bus station and the town centre.
Councillor Steve Wheeler said he had received a lot of complaints about access and there had been an onsite meeting with residents to establish the problems.
He said people, including parents with buggies, were actually walking on the road to get into the bus station.
The council agreed to pass the petition to the county council and call for urgent action.
