RUNNERS from a Redditch school were among the honours at the district cross-country championships held in the town.
At the Middle and High Schools team competition and district trails, held at Arrow Valley Park, Kingsley College produced three winning teams.
The Woodrow Drive school fielded a strong team of 32 students, including two district champions, and claimed the honours in the Year 10 girls, Year 11 boys and post 16 team.
Five of the young athletes were also selected to represent the area at the County Championships next month. The quintet are Niall Beaumont, Year 9 boys; Peggy Andrews, Year 9 girls; and Tom Richardson, Cori Stanton and Lauran Jones, all Year 11 students.
Kingsley College coach Anne Triptree said: "I was delighted with the commitment, fitness and resulting outstanding achievement of the team."
