A WINYATES man has described men who tried to break into his car - and returned two hours later after being disturbed - as 'mindless morons too idle to get a job'.

Geoffrey Pedley, of Winforton Close, said he heard the alarm on his Rover at about midnight last Wednesday and when he went outside, a neighbour told him two men had run off.

He added: "They had smashed the driver's door handle and one of the back windows, which set off the alarm.

"They also tried to jemmy open the door on my neighbour's car and, apparently, another car was broken into at the top of the close."

Mr Pedley said: "We disturbed them but the cheek of it was they came back two hours later.

"I was woken up again and saw someone trying to get into another car.

"They are just mindless morons who are too idle to get a job."

A Redditch police spokesman confirmed the police had received calls between midnight and 8am on Thursday about damage to three cars in Winforton Close.

The spokesman added: "We received a description of one man who is white, about 5ft 8ins tall and wearing a light jacket."
