MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid Birmingham Road through Bordesley in the next five weeks as water works cause long tailbacks.
But drivers are being assured by Severn Trent Water this will be the last time they face disruption as it replaces old pipes.
A company spokesman said two-way temporary lights had been put in place and these would be operated manually during peak hours to try to keep disruption to a minimum.
