WORCESTER City boss John Barton has brushed aside fears over their recent rough patch and insists they will emerge stronger for it.

The St George's Lane club's dip in form has seen them drop to ninth in the Dr Martens Premier Division but Barton remains more determined than ever to succeed at the club.

City have suffered back-to-back home defeats to Hednesford Town and Newport County, with just two wins in their last 12 competitive games.

"I'm not going to let this run get me down," said Barton.

"It strengthens your resolve and that's where the motivation comes from.

"We've got a job to do and we'll take what comes our way in terms of criticism but it is new to us in our four years at the club.

"What goes around comes around and we might be in a bad run at the moment but we will come through it.

"There has been progress and improvement in four years, let's not forget that.

"We are not living off that but we will take that with us and come out the other side stronger for it."

Barton's men are at home to Weston-super-Mare on Saturday but will again be without winger Adam Wilde, who serves the second of a three-match ban following his dismissal in the 5-1 defeat to Newport.
