NO wonder there will be cup romance at the Beehive on Saturday...manager Mark Chambers and his players are simply in love with the FA Vase.

The buzzing Bees take on Derby outfit Mickleover Sports (3pm) and, according to Chambers, there will be much more at stake than just the £1,000 prize money to swell the club coffers.

"Playing in the FA Vase is always a great occasion," said Chambers whose side have real pedigree in the competition after only losing to holders Brigg Town and knocking out once FA Trophy finalists Buxton in recent seasons. "We all love being involved with the competition. It raises the profile of the club and hopefully it will draw some good crowds to The Beehive."

Chambers has already done his homework on the Northern Counties Eastern League outfit after seeing them lose a league cup game to Shirebrook Town - the team that dumped neighbours Redditch United out of the FA Cup.

"They lost 3-1 but to be honest I don't think I saw them no where near their best," said Chambers. "That, in a way, could be a blessing in disguise because it means that we can just go out there and play our game."

Chambers will have a fully-fit squad at his disposal for the second round proper tie with Mark Beddowes and Mark Neath expected to recover from a knee and foot injury respectively. Matt Coppin will also be available but defender Dave Burrows is still suspended.
