JOHN Brain has admitted Duncan Roke's chances of making Worcester's weekend clash with Exeter are "slim".

The Sixways director of rugby sent the full back for another scan on his troublesome knee injury yesterday but no further problems were picked up.

Roke is still feeling pain from the bruised bone injury and, although he can now jog, he will not be rushed back with the Warriors back line in fine form.

"I would say his chances of being fit for Exeter are slim," said Brain. "It's the same sort of injury that Werner Swane-poel had and he took a month to recover. Duncan is in his third week.

"Obviously we want Duncan fit as soon as possible but at the moment, the back line is performing well."

Centre Duncan Murray could be back in the squad to face the Chiefs after a hamstring problem, while flanker Neil Mason will increase competition in the back row by returning to training following his twisted ankle.

Worcester have been basking in the glory of their 43-17 weekend win at Plymouth but will now focus entirely on another Devon side.

"We were very pleased with the performance at Plymouth," added Brain. "However, that's gone now. We have to focus on a very tough game with Exeter.

"What we have to concentrate on is building on the platform of the Plymouth match and continue with the improvement."
