The Birmingham-born front man was once known as the Flying Postman from his non-league days at Cradley Town.

Williams was 23 when he broke into professional football with Swansea City and he became a well-travelled player before signing for an initial three months with Harriers in 2003 after an impressive trial.

In his first season, the strong, speedy striker bagged 11 goals in 39 games for Swansea which caught the attention of Premiership Coventry who paid £250,000 for his services 11 years ago.

Williams found the net at the top level with the Sky Blues, especially to begin with, but eventually ended up at Wycombe for £150,000 in 1995.

His career proceeded to take in a lower-league journey around Hereford, Walsall, Exeter, Cardiff, York, Darlington and Swansea again though the goals began to dry up at the turn of the century.

Capable of the unexpected, Williams will add some much-needed height and strength to the Harriers attack after the loss of Drewe Broughton.
