I WAS recently at a meeting concerned with greater involvement of people with the NHS.

I left early after questioning whether such talk-shops are not counter-productive by diverting funding from doctors and nurses. Naturally, the reply was a polite dissent.

We see a tremendous explosion of expensive bumf spreading across the NHS, education the police and other services, which actually impedes the doers.

A friend of mine who, half-jokingly, says "bring back Guy Fawkes" might have a point.
