DEAN Bennett is reaping the rewards of Jan Molby's return, according to the Great Dane himself!

The Kidderminster Harriers director of football believes the midfielder, who was tipped to be a great success on his promotion to the Football League three years ago, can now blossom again under his tutelage.

Bennett struggled under former manager Ian Britton but has rediscovered his form since Molby's return culminating in Saturday's double strike in Harriers' 2-1 FA Cup success over Northwich last weekend.

"Dean has been the most consistent player in the four games since I've been back," said Molby ahead of today's game at Rochdale.

"He has all those things that I like in a player. He has plenty of energy, plenty of pace and I always think he should be in double figures as a goal-scorer every season.

"There are still plenty of games for him to do that this season. He's getting chances now and he looks happy when he plays up front as one of the three or as the spare man in midfield.

"The management change has done him the world of good. He's responded to me this time and he responded the last time I came in at Kidderminster.

"He struggled in his first season in the Football League, he would admit that himself.

"The second season he had an exceptional year but maybe he's been a bit in and out after that. In my opinion, people have struggled to play him in his strongest position.

"Dean needs to play in a position with not a great deal of responsibility. You know he will run around and work his socks off but he needs a certain amount of freedom.

"We've given him that in the last two games and he's responded to that."
