THE barrage of foul language on television and radio has pushed a former Mayor of Worcester into staging a one-man crusade.

Bob Bullock is so fed up with society's obsession with four-letter words that he is writing to broadcasters to demand they clean up their act.

He has lambasted the BBC and ITV and also hit out as what he sees as the falling standard of comedy on television.

"It seems they can't get a joke out without using the F-word to shock the audience into laughing," he said.

And he is not stopping at the airwaves - the county councillor has also rounded on parents and youngsters who swear as part of their everyday conversation.
