PETER Morgan, head of the world-renowned Morgan Motor Company in Malvern, has died.
Mr Morgan, known affectionately as "PM", passed away on Monday evening, in Worcestershire Royal Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was two weeks away from his 84th birthday, on Monday, November 3.
His wife Heather, and children Charles and Jill, were by his side.
"It was very peaceful in the end," said Charles, who is managing director of the family firm, established in 1909.
Mr Morgan, born in 1919, was involved in every aspect of the origin and development of the legendary Morgan marque from 1950 onwards.
He worked side-by-side with the founder of the company, his father, Henry "HFS" Morgan, from a very young age.
Peter Morgan took over the company reins following his father's death in 1959.
Arrangements for the funeral and tributes are due to be announced shortly.
