RESIDENTS of Alfrick gathered to discuss proposals to rebuild their village hall at a public meeting on Friday night.
The village hall committee showed a film transferred from cine to video of the opening of the current hall in 1953.
It put out plans for the redevelopment of the building to public consultation, discussing options with the parishioners so their comments could be taken into account.
Norman Macleod, committee treasurer, said: "The hall's 50 years old. It's served its time and it won't last another 50 years."
This is the second time the committee has invited the public to discuss the plans.
Mr Macleod said that when a similar meeting was held in July the majority of people felt knocking the hall down and rebuilding it was the best way forward.
The committee will meet at the beginning of November to digest views and will then instruct architects.
Mr Macleod said he hoped the new hall would be bigger, have more storage space, the disabled toilets required by law, a mobile stage and maybe a skittle alley to attract different types of people to use it.
