ANOTHER defeat for Kidderminster Harriers against poor opposition on Saturday.

Just how long can Ian Britton hang onto his job?

The display against Southend was totally unacceptable and I can't see how the performances will improve under this manager who continues to berate the players in public.

On Sunday, Britton was quoted as saying: "I am sick and tired with some of my players".

It's hardly a motivating factor if you were a Harrier, sitting at home reading that.

Southend fully deserved to win Saturday's encounter, despite being a poorer side than Carlisle.

At least, Southend had a go at us, had some shots and showed some passion.

I cannot remember Harriers having a meaningful effort on goal until the 84th minute which resulted in our lucky goal. This is an abysmal statistic.

It is clear to see why Sean Flynn fell out with the management team. I certainly agree with him that we don't have the aggression to win games.

We just don't attack teams well enough and do not get sufficient bodies in the box to score goals.

Also, one clean sheet in 11 games tells its own sorry tale.

The board of directors have a lot of hard thinking to do but as it stands I can only see Britton taking us down to the Conference.

What a shame that would be after all the hard work to get us into the Football League several years ago.

Off the field, we are one of the few clubs making money and have a wonderful little stadium to watch the team in.

But I really do fear for our league status and the next few weeks will determine how serious the board are about keeping it at Aggborough.

Time is running out, given that any new manager would need a good four to six weeks to bring his own style of play to the team.
