ARTISTS of all abilities are being called upon to help decorate the historic walls of Hartlebury Castle.

Staff at Worcestershire County Museum have organised The Big Draw as part of a national celebration of drawing and are urging people to join them, whatever their talent or lack of it.

The event, which takes place from 2pm until 5pm on Sunday, will see visitors given a sketchpad to draw pictures of the items on display, which will then be exhibited in the museum's gallery room.

The Orchard caf will also be open, selling tea and cakes.

Design and interpretation officer Sally Brown said: "The idea is for people to come to the museum to look at and actually draw the objects because if you're drawing something then you really look at it."

She added: "We're going to give people a sketch book and tell them to go round to get some inspiration and then come back into our activity room.

"The pictures will then be displayed on the walls of the gallery room."
