GOLFERS from around Wyre Forest and beyond teed off to help raise more than £2,800 for a charity for ill children.
The event, held at Kidderminster Golf Club, was in aid of Birmingham-based Edward's Trust, which cares for children and families around the UK during child illness and bereavement.
The 18-team shotgun event was organised by businessman Corrigan Lockett, of retail consultants Lockett Associates, based in New Road, Kidderminster.
The money raised was supplemented by a raffle and auction of donated gifts in the clubhouse.
Lynne Thomas, support officer for Edward's Trust, said: "We run both Edward House, where the families of seriously ill children at Birmingham Children's Hospital can stay free of charge, and Sunrise, the bereavement centre in Edgbaston.
"The service supports families at what is often a distressing and traumatic time."
