SATURDAY'S Individual Champi-onships on Town Waters resulted in victory for Brian Bennett.

Fishing peg six, the winner caught roach on maggot-hemp to pole tactics for a top weight of 14.7.0. Gary Seadon was second from peg 32 with 11.12.8 and George Avery third from peg ten with 8.14.0.

The next association match is for the Centenary Trophy on Sunday, November 2. Winter League action is scheduled to start seven days later.

ELEVEN members travelled to Oak-ham Farm, Loxley last Sunday to contest the Ernie Clarke Memorial Match.

Despite a cold breeze blowing across the lake, competitors enjoyed a hard match that was won by Wayne Panting who put 14.12.0 on the scales to retain the trophy.

In second place for the second successive week was Frank Lake (7.12.0) and in third was Rita Barnett (3.6.0).

Members who have booked in are asked to be at this weekend's venue for 7.45am allowing the draw to be made at 8am.

Evesham Jubilee Society

SIMON Milner topped the weights at last weekend's Avon Shield Series on the BAA Waters at Fladbury.

Fishing a shallow and clear river, the winner netted roach and chublets using waggler tactics.

The next Open match at the Fishery is on Saturday with fishing for five hours after the 9am draw. Book in on 01386 41273.

It's the members' only annual visit to the River Wye at Hereford on Sunday.

Meet Merstow Green at 6.45am if uncertain of directions to venue. Draw is at 8am bankside with fishing at Rowing Club end.

Evesham WMC

A NASTY downstream wind made fishing difficult but members still managed to catch mainly small roach and chub.

Winner Vic Woods (8.2.0) caught on the seed and bagged a few better roach.

Mic Brooks (4.14.0) was second with a mixed bag on the pole and third-placed Mart Woods (4.13.0) caught small roach on the pole.

The next match is at Mythe Farm with a new draw time of 7.30am.

Evesham Youth AC

JEFF Baguley's net weighing 28lbs and 10ozs was easily enough to win the Rob Tingle Memorial Trophy at Willow Farm Fishery.

Thanks are extended to Mark Ricketts at the venue for kind use of the lake at an event that raised £150 for the local Spina Bifida Association.
