ROYAL Mail says: "Happy Anniversary" to one of the world's greatest museums, with six stunning images taken from its incredible collection.
The British Museum stamps, issued on October 7, celebrate the 250th anniversary of this famous institution and include artefacts representing six continents.
The oldest image to appear on the stamps is the Egyptian coffin of Denytenamun circa 900BC, on the second class stamp, while the most recent is the Indian sculpture of Parvati, from around AD 1550 on the 42p stamp.
Portraying them at around the same size unified the six "faces", and with eye levels following more or less the same line.
But achieving this consistency across the set proved a challenge due to the huge variations in size.
The Shuttle/Times and News has joined forces with the Royal Mail to offer 20 readers a chance to win a set of the stamps.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer the following question by Friday, October 24:
Which anniversary is the British Museum celebrating this year?
