FORMER race ace Sir Stirling Moss will greet visitors to this year's International Classic Motor Show which is hoping to break attendance records next month.

The show takes place on November 8 and November 9 at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, and boasts more than 1,000 classic cars and nearly 200 car clubs all under one roof.

And the Shuttle/Times & News has joined forces with the organisers to give away 15 pairs of tickets, worth more than £330.

The event will be officially opened by Sir Stirling Moss who will meet, greet and sign autographs for visitors in the brand new Classic Motor Show theatre area.

New for 2003 is a classic cars for sale feature with some 300 classics on display at bargain prices. Visitors can book a space in the dedicated sale hall for just £50 for one day or £80 for the weekend, and have their classic seen by 40,000 car enthusiasts.

A number of UK classic dealerships will be offering a stunning collection of dream cars for sale.

There will be an opportunity to pick up new tips and techniques at show sponsors Practical Classics and Classic Cars' Jaguar XJS engine rebuild feature which will take place over the weekend, and the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club is raffling Michael Owen's X-Type 2.5 litre sport Jaguar, which one lucky visitor can win for just £1.

Three classic buses, dating from the 1940s will transport visitors from the car parks show

The buses, all from the Birmingham and Midland Museum of Transport include a classic Guy Arab IV double-decker from 1953, a splendid Midland Red BMMO double-decker dating back to 1965 and a beautifully restored late 40s single-decker Bristol.

The event will also see the launch of a brand new seminar programme, hosted by television's Jerry Thurston, where visitors can get expert help on buying and restoring classic cars.

The Lecture Theatre will feature an action packed day of informative seminars, each boasting a panel of top names from within their respective fields, enabling visitors to question the experts on subjects as diverse as buying a classic to bare metal re-spray.

Live restoration demonstrations covering a wide range of techniques, and offering on-the-spot advice and tips will be run throughout the two days, and a visit to the show would not be complete without perusing the UK's largest indoor autojumble.
