BUSINESSES in Bewdley are to come together next week for a key summit on how to get trade in the town back on its feet.

Just weeks after business leaders warned shops in the town were "struggling to survive", a special event is being held to give trade a major shot in the arm.

"Building Businesses in Bewdley" has already attracted about 50 firms from the town and the surrounding area for next Wednesday's event.

Speakers include representatives from Business Link, the official Government offices of VAT, Tax and Insurance, Kidderminster College and Wyre Forest banks and business clubs.

"Bewdley needs our support," said organiser Esme Turton. "This event will allow people to start networking and will hopefully give them more confidence."

She added: "The event is aimed at businesses in Bewdley and the surrounding area, offering information and business support."

Bewdley Chamber of Trade is supporting the event at the Ramada and Resort Hotel on Habberley Road, Bewdley on Wednesday between 5pm and 9pm. For more information call 01299 825321.
