Alison Walshe, director of commissioning and modernisation at Redditch and Bromsgrove Primary Care Trust, is leading a discussion on behalf of Worcestershire PCTs, with Dr Alistair Miller, of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, with a view to defining a care pathway for ME sufferers, and making a bid for additional funding.
Ms Walshe will be the guest speaker at the group's autumn evening meeting, at Unity House Day Centre, Stanley Road, Worcester, on Tuesday, November 4, from 7pm, as part of Worcestershire County Council's Today, Not Tomorrow 10-day event promoting disability awareness.
The Government has announced a national cash injection for services for people with chronic fatigue syndrome and myalgic encephalomyelitis, and PCTs are being invited to bid for funds to set up centres to develop clinical care, and education/training programmes. sufferers, their carers and relatives. Medical personnel, are also urged to attend.
