NORTH Midlands relinquished the Sable's Head trophy after they were beaten 31-0 by Warwickshire in the second leg of the Midlands Under-19 Rugby Union Championship final in Droitwich yesterday.
North Midlands trailed by only five points from the first leg at Broadstreet but struggled to contain a bigger and heavier Warwickshire pack.
They went 19 points down in the first-half but showed tremendous spirit to restrict them to only 12 more points in a more even second period.
It was the first time that Warwickshire had won the trophy for four years.
North Midlands will complete their programme at this age group with a game against Yorkshire at Old Griffinians on Sunday, November 16 (2pm).
