A DISAPPOINTING performance at Malvern on Sunday saw Evesham Ladies crash to defeat in the Wyvern Associates League Cup.
Evesham took the lead after nine minutes when Lorraine Jones and Charlotte Benson-Wilson combined to set up Nicky Bond who slotted the ball into the corner of the net.
The lead only lasted three minutes, however, as sloppy defending allowed Emily Prosser to level.
Malvern took the lead after 15 minutes when Felicity Slater fired home from a harshly awarded free-kick. They then increased their lead after 58 minutes minute when Emma Hinchcliffe beat the advancing Sam Jones.
Tori Southern's pace was causing problems for the Malvern defence and when she got clear seven minutes later her shot was kicked away by the Town goalkeeper. However, the United player latched on to the loose ball before finding the net.
This was the only bright spot for United in the second half as two goals from Polly Bounds settled the outcome.
The ladies entertain Hereford Pegasus Ladies in the first round of the Herefordshire & Worcester-shire FA's Women's Challenge Cup at Common Road on Sunday (2pm).
